this morning i thought of someone from my past i would like to go back and talk to. i had a substitute teacher for a week in a junior high school chemistry class -- seventh or eighth grade, i think -- named John Iorio. i remember him not just because he was rather cute and a good teacher, but because he was so nice to me. i always sat alone at lunch, since no one wanted to sit with me. one day (i think it was only one, but it's been a long time) he came over and asked if he could sit with me. no one had ever done that before. i guess he'd noticed (how could he not?) that i was pretty much the most unpopular kid in the school, and wanted to be nice to me.

amazing that i still remember his name after all this time. anyway, it would be neat to get to thank him for that. i wonder if he's on the net.
