i'm meeting with a guy tomorrow morning to discuss some stuff he wants done on his website. i quoted him $30/hour (if it were a big company and serious writing i'd have asked for more, but this job is pure cake), and he seemed to think that was just fine. we're meeting in a cafe nearby since he's way the hell up in Leander. i don't think anyone else is really in the running here, he's just looking for some short-term web design and a little writing. but hey, anything is better than nothing!
(he wanted to meet Right Now, but i didn't have any clean pants so i had to put him off till tomorrow. finally i get to try out my new iron so i can look all professional and shit.)
work! income! stuff to put on the resume! yay! i shall report back when there is more to report.

valkyrie_kitten is still in Iowa. she was planning to start the drive home today, but she woke up with a sore throat and a fever, so it looks like it'll be a few more days till she's back. i hope she feels better soon -- the menagerie misses her, and so does bquinlan. (and me, of course.)
