i feel limp

another 3 laps in the pool today. i was hoping to do 4, but quickly realized this was not a realistic goal for me. at least i managed to do it. in my current state of mind i feel like i should get a medal every time i manage to heave my ass off the couch. i felt weak and shaky afterward, but drinking a quart of water helped a little.

tomorrow i interview with that company i had a phone interview with last week. i'm still wondering whether they're saying "contract-to-perm" because they want a chance to try out the writer before hiring them, or because they can't afford to hire someone permanently, but i'm sure i can find a way to ask that tomorrow. either way, though, they're offering more than most of the contract rates i've seen around lately, so it may be worth my while either way.

i'm not sure how well i'll be able to fake enthusiasm. i guess i'll just have to wait and see.

now i guess i'd better run out and get a new toner cartridge for my printer, so i can print out fresh resumes. whee, deductible expenses. and for tonight's dinner, chicken paprikash -- tonight i need food that's comforting, familiar, and most of all, fat-filled.

well!

i had a change of dinner plans, since Warren and Shirley invited me to join them in trying out a new Indian restaurant. this turned out to be a spectacular success. it was the best Indian food i've ever had! especially the absolutely gorgeous lamb tikka masala -- the lamb was a little tough, but i recognized the blazing orange of one type of chili and the distinctive almost tea-like flavor of another in the beautiful sauce. the chicken curry was solid, but nothing special, but the vegetable korma was utterly divine. even the rice was perfect. for starters we had samosas and onion bhaji, also outstanding.

i feel distended.

what i don't understand...

...is how it took so long for an openly gay man to become a bishop in the Episcopal church. i mean, who doesn't just adore that fabulous hat?
