gah

the latest word from the potential employer is that they're still trying to nail down one person i interviewed with, and that if they're not able to talk to her before the end of the week, everyone will be on vacation till the end of the year. the staffing consultant sounds very embarrassed about it. i certainly would be in her position. it's obviously not her fault people are being so flaky.

this is good news in that they'd hardly be bothering to keep in touch at this point if everyone else hadn't been positive about me, but i'm worried that by the time they get this woman's buy-in (which i'm sure they will -- we got along famously), it'll be too late for them to check my references and make an offer before the holidays.

i'm not sure i can take another couple of weeks of this suspense.

Yeah I know...that sucks. I hate it when they do that too.

Having been in that staffing consultants very shoes, I know how she must feel. When I was doing recruiting, at the height of the dot.com days, delays of this nature would cause me to lose great candidates. Talk about frustrating!

It is a good sign that she is staying in contact with you. I hope that she's able to touch base with that one last person. This is so nerve-wracking for you to be made to wait.

good luck

you are right - this is a sign you have a good chance. here's hoping the tide of public opinion will carry you in! the waiting is the hardest part. good luck!

Good luck! May we both have good jobs within the next couple of weeks.
