beers tonight with M2. that should be a nice thing. i'm feeling pretty stressed and demoralized, despite some positive developments at work.

this talk.bizarre post, dating back to something like 1988 (but updated for 1998, in this version), comes to mind.

i just keep gazing at the little anvil on my desk and telling myself everything's going to be all right. and that if it isn't, i can just build a cute little trebuchet and hurl it in the direction of my enemies.

or maybe not

M2's too tired for beers tonight. now i'm thinking i'll get some tomatoes and make a wonderful indian-spiced tomato soup, and have it with a fresh baguette and some more of the lovely syrah i opened last night. a nice quiet pleasant evening.
