i found a rug. i still need a tv stand. the living room looks great but i haven't got round to taking a really useful picture yet.
my client finally paid my final invoice -- but they have yet to pay me for invoice #3, which was submitted on August 6. i've complained repeatedly and they always have some sort of excuse. first they said they never got the invoice. then they said they never got the statement. then they couldn't open the electronic version i sent them. then they promised it would be taken care of "ASAP", but didn't mention that the person who had to sign off on it before payment was out of the country that week. finally, today, i was assured that "as soon as he signs off on it" they'll print the check and put it in the mail. i responded by saying "i'd prefer to pick it up in person. please let me know when it's been signed off on, and i'll come down to your office."
losers.
my therapy group came down on me for not trying hard enough to have a social life, so i've got a list of stuff i'm supposed to check into at least two of this week. fortunately one of them is something i was already planning to do.
i bought some really great shoes (Clarks) at Macy's, and they weren't even on sale. however, the dress and the knit top were on clearance. i was very careful to buy only things i was certain i would wear and that looked good, and i held true to my promise to myself and culled my closet of two items for each of the new things i bought, plus an extra because it was just ugly. tomorrow i will drop them off at Goodwill.
speaking of Goodwill, last week i forgot to mention that while i was dropping off boxes of books for donation, i was flirted with openly for the first time in months...
by an elderly one-eyed filipino man who was accepting donations in the back of the Goodwill truck. he said i had "a very healthy body".
joy.
