updates from the frozen north

last night: beer, pizza, and bowling; food porn was purchased. this morning: we climbed in the car and turned on the radio just as the news of the Columbia disaster was hitting the media. this did not prevent us from eating massive breakfasts. we dropped off mii-chan at the library, and dee-chan and i made our way to the famous Elderly Instruments, where we lost ourselves for a couple of hours in guitar porn. i played a wide variety of guitars i hadn't yet had a chance to try, and among them all, a $900 ($1349 list) Larrivee OM-03R with rosewood back and sides and spruce top had by far the nicest sound and feel, even when directly compared to $3k models by Santa Cruz, Taylor, and Martin. also finally got to play one of the Rainsong graphite acoustics. felt like ass, sounded like ass. we are not impressed.

and now we are back at chez dee-chan, awaiting the arrival of vampyr, with whom we will have beer and fondue.

i am very, very tired. possibly tonight i will get to do a little sleeping.

last night i kept thinking i felt the cats jumping up on the futon with me, and was very sad that there were in fact no cats.

it snowed for me! last night it was huge wet flakes, from the time i arrived to the time i went to sleep. yay! snow!
