last night's experiment with vegetable korma was unsatisfying -- the recipe wasn't bad, but it was missing something, a bottom note in the flavor, and was much too spicy (not too spicy for me to eat, but spicier than this dish should be).
i just put the pork on the grill, and the smell of hickory smoke is beginning to pervade the neighborhood. i've mixed up some eastern NC style sauce as well, which is brewing on the counter and ought to be deliciously evil. there's still another dishwasher load worth of dishes sitting in the sink waiting to be washed, but the apartment is otherwise reasonably presentable.
shirley has given me several plants from her balcony. more flowers!
i'm sipping some of that delicious cider i bought on tuesday, which spent three days on the counter and is now fabulously zippy.
it's a good day.
