the kickass news
Dec. 5th, 2003 11:29 amjust got a voicemail from the people i interviewed with yesterday -- apparently they called back while i was next door hanging out with warren and shirley! (and after the director of engineering had said at the end that they were going to take a couple of days to consider candidates before getting back to anyone!) they want me to come in again next week.
this is my first second interview in a year and a half, and i once again feel confident i'm going to get this job.
all of you, i need you to cross every appendage you've got for me. i want this job. i need this job. i have to get this job.
did i mention that yesterday in heavy rain it took me 13 minutes door to door to get there? after years of hour-long commutes, this would be utter bliss. and their building? out on the end of sierra point. i could take lunchtime walks out to the brisbane marina! nice building, too. nice big cubes. very cool people. i think the engineer i interviewed with yesterday would've hired me on the spot if he could have, after i answered all his unix questions with panache and then delivered a five minute off-the-cuff lecture on modern dirigible technology and its possible applications for eco-tourism, luxury air cruises, and cargo hauling. (everybody asks about what i did for Arctic-Antarctic Static Airships when they find it on my resume, and they don't need to know it was just editing a white paper and doing a little web design for Josh G. -- but it's a kickass conversation piece and makes me sound insanely cool.)
anyway. go me!
