Rikki was at work for a couple of hours on my sink, but he ended up giving me new pipes and a spanking new disposal, and ranted for a while about how management doesn't understand that if you spend the money to do a thing right, they won't have to pay him overtime to fix it when it breaks on sunday night. he didn't have to give me the new disposal, either -- the one i had, while elderly, worked just fine. i asked him why he replaced it. he said, "because this way, i won't have to fix it for another five years."
sounds good to me. i didn't get to use the sink or dishwasher all night, though, because he'd caulked all the joints and wanted the caulk to have plenty of time to dry. so i slightly modified my dinner plan, and grilled everything -- the steak, the asparagus, and the potatoes. the asparagus was underdone again -- i just don't seem to be able to get asparagus right on the grill -- but otherwise everything was delicious.
finally saw "being john malkovich." great movie! alas, i missed most of "whale rider" (running on Oxygen lately) because i was helping Rikki drain the standing water out of the sink and dishwasher.
the weather was beautiful again yesterday, and is again today. i would like to be sipping a latte in an outdoor cafe, but instead i am in the office, working on the online help for promoting ML to LKG.
