this morning on my way out of the BART station in Walnut Creek, i saw two pigeons squabbling. the larger of the two spread his wings and sort of stood on tiptoes; he looked just like Daddy-O when he's asserting his supremacy over Iceberg. automatically, i shook my finger at the pigeon and said, "i saw that, you big bully!"

both pigeons panicked and flew away. i was too embarrassed to look around and see if anyone had noticed me talking to the pigeons.

i'm allergic to a great many things, but tree pollens are by far the worst, especially juniper. right now, there's so much pollen in the air that my car is coated -- i ran out of wiper fluid a few days ago, and have resorted to opening the sunroof and reaching out to squirt water on the windshield before i run the wipers. and my allergies -- oh, my allergies. if you could use phlegm to generate electricity, i could singlehandedly power a major metropolitan area.

but i am taking my revenge. with the number of tissues i'm using, i'm devastating entire forests.

take that, you bastards.

aeron chairs are very bouncy, and thus excellent for bopping around your cube to Sinatra's later work for Columbia Records. (i have the whole Columbia Years box set, but disc 4 is by far my favorite.) i must eventually pick up the Capitol Years set as well. as with Elvis, i prefer the thin Frank. my god, what a voice.

hard to work to this music, though.

whose music compels you to dance around and grin like an idiot? for me: early Beatles, uptempo Sinatra, songs from Fred Astaire movies, Boston, ELO. (i have the world's most uncool taste in music. sorry.) there are individual songs by others that get me, but almost anything by these artists makes me go zoom!
