one: i passed David Caruso on Divisadero Monday afternoon. he was eating a burrito.

two: a new decoration on the walls on my floor at EA -- 11x17 xeroxes of people rolling their faces across the copier glass at the same speed as the scanner. very amusing.

three: the woman two floors down from me has her 20ish son and one of his friends staying with her (although how they can stand it in a one-bedroom apartment i don't know). the downside is that these kids are the bad kind of rednecks (they do a lot of spitting and blasting the radio and having extremely loud conversations involving every vulgar term known to man outside on the deck). the upside is that the son's friend is H O T T. and he likes to lift weights out on the deck. shirtless.

yes, i'm disgusting. yes, as a matter of fact, i am old enough to be his mother. but damn. i mean, you know, damn.

I PREDICT!

Scott Peterson's lawyers will have no trouble at all getting him a new trial; they'll claim judicial bias based on the replacement of two jurors mid-deliberation. There will be months of wrangling over where to hold the new trial, and the entire process will drag on for at least another couple of years. Peterson will still be found guilty.

note: it's looking good for prediction #1... we've got dead Arafat, we've got chaos, and we've got Bush looking to force the Palestinianians into peace talks with Israel from a position of weakness using "the combined strength of Europe and America". with Bush involved, this cannot be anything but ugly.

i'd like to take this opportunity to express my sympathy to the Palestinian people, and my hope that there will eventually be a Palestinian state free from Israeli interference.

i also hope they will forgive me for not holding my breath.

ok, whoever's hogging all the luck had better give it back right now. one of my best friends is moving 7000 miles away, another is in the hospital with gallstones and a swollen pancreas, and yet another is seriously ill with bronchitis complicated by leukemia. not to mention that yet another may soon be stranded in Canada due to visa issues.

it's not like i have that many close friends. send them some of that luck, will you?
