Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash cut short his New Year's Eve celebrations when he discovered his beloved pet cat was ailing.

The former Guns 'N' Roses rocker was partying in Las Vegas when he received a phone call from a family member, telling him the feline had suffered a heart attack in his Los Angeles home.

Slash kept interrupting his partying to return to his hotel suite throughout the night and check on how his furry friend was doing.

hell, this is right up there with the time Steven Tyler ran back into his burning house to rescue his cat.
