your typical Victorian house, broken up by floors into flats. dual bowed windows, with a door/stairwell between them.

on the second floor, in one window: two pairs of colorful boxer shorts on hangers. in the other: two pairs of women's underwear, white, one about twice the size of the other.

it made me smile.

from Jonathan Safran Foer's "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close:"
"One fascinating thing is that I read in National Geographic that there are more people alive now than have died in all of human history put together. In other words, if everyone wanted to play Hamlet at once, they couldn't, because there aren't enough skulls."

  2. grab head like stunned monkey.
  3. tear hair, weep and ululate.
