a taste of things to come?

now we've got susan torres, being kept alive artificially so that her body can carry a fetus to full term.
how much longer till someone rents out womb space in their brain-dead wife to a desperate childless couple?
(actually, that'd make a pretty kickass plot for a mystery novel, wouldn't it? the plot would be uncovered during an investigation of how the brain-dead woman became pregnant. then again, they could just turn it into a reality show where couples undergo a series of grueling, humiliating challenges for the right to impregnate a vegetable.)
