fear the Waynes

some time back, Chuck Shepherd of News of the Weird started a list of murderers with the middle name 'Wayne'. the list is no longer up to date, but it's an interesting artifact nonetheless.

chances are there are just as many with the middle name 'Lee' or 'Bob', of course.

anyway, today i spotted another murderous Wayne, which made me think of the list again.

in other news, the insurance company has finally caved and sent me what should be the first of three checks. and about fucking time, too. the first installment will go to cover what i still owe to my former landlord and closing out my final utility bills from CA. after that, i need to pay back my Gracious Hosts at least some of what they laid out for my move, because they pretty much emptied their savings to cover it.

i know i still owe a bunch of you money, and i promise you'll see it eventually. i *am* keeping track. still no luck on the job front, though. the market is considerably sparser than i expected, although i've got a lead on something that might bring in at least something while i'm looking.

in conclusion, watch out for guys with the middle name 'Wayne'.

as if we didn't already know, scientists have announced that too much testosterone kills brain cells. but it gets better:

Ehrlich's team tried the same thing with the "female" hormone estrogen, just to be fair.

"We were surprised, but it actually looks like estrogen is neuroprotective. If anything, there is less cell death in the presence of estrogen," she said.
