swishy pants

no, not that kind of swishy. this is me we're talking about, after all, not that pervy dwarf-fancier Legolas. (see cassieclaire)

so it turns out that an old net acquaintance is in town and wants to get together, and then i also found out that some old friends have put together a new band and are playing tonight at one of my favorite venues. problem: no clean laundry. so i started rummaging through my closet looking for anything i could wear, and discovered my leather pants. i didn't think i'd lost enough weight to cram myself into them yet, but they're actually fairly comfy, other than the swishing. these pants are too damn loud.

i will probably regret the leather pants when i get to the club tonight. i'm going to die of heat exhaustion before they finish the first set.

but at least i finally get to wear that bustier i bought for new year's eve and then never wore because i was having a bad face day.

it's unanimous

everyone on nerdsholm agrees i should bail out of work early and go home to do laundry so i can wear something more comfortable tonight. the great thing about nerdsholm, of course, is that you can always get advice. the terrible thing about nerdsholm is that you always get advice, whether you want it or not.

i came home. i've changed into my laundry-doing clothes. now all i have to do is actually get off my butt and do the laundry.

but it's just so damn unfair.

i am pleased to note that the expensive stainless steel step can has indeed turned out to be catproof. of course, this does me no good if i'm too lazy to empty it and start tossing trash into an empty grocery bag next to the trash can.
