i was so focused on the gardening thing, i totally forgot we were gaming yesterday. B. called me around 1:30 wanting to know where i was. i was on my way to the drugstore to pick up shower gel and trash bags, having already bought several more plants and some more potting soil. so instead, i took the plants home and headed up to Larkspur for the game, which was much better for me than gardening would have been anyway since it involved less straining of muscles and more entertainment value. not to mention beer and meat.
but i did get more herbs -- lemon thyme (yay!), a healthier looking dill, and a bizarre dark purple curly-leaved basil the like of which i've never seen before. i figure the purple basil should make a really nifty looking garnish for some dishes. i also picked up little pots of jalapeño and serrano chilies, and some seeds for habañero peppers and dill (in case the little dill seedlings don't survive), and 16 lbs. of potting soil, which ought to be enough to get everything potted that isn't already.
the cilantro is already putting off new growth, and everything else i planted looks exactly as it did when i planted it -- including that first little dill, which just seems to have lost its will to live. i'll put it with the other one in its own pot, but i don't expect too much. the chilies will be nifty if they work out, too.
in other news, They Fight Crime! is still my favorite website of all time.
