i feel mildly virtuous

i finally put away last week's laundry last night and tidied the living room so it isn't so embarrassingly messy. i also put the pile of dirty clothes on the bedroom floor into the hamper. now if i can just do the dishes tonight...

went to feed the neighbors' cats this morning. S. had left extensive instructions on what order they like to be fed in and where their dishes go, but for some reason three of them went for a different dish than she said they would, and the fourth was too scared of me to come out of the bedroom.

tonight i'll stop in, feed them again, and spend a while keeping them company. i sure wish i could have more cats.

master of my domain

so i've decided i need to register something more professional-sounding than merde.org in order to have my writing samples/business related stuff (and email) separate from my personal stuff.

currently my favorite available option is "paraphrases.com", but i'm afraid it's going to be confused with "paraphrase.com". do people think that's likely to be a serious problem, or should i go with it?

co-worker follies

the guy sitting across from me has Tourette's. periodically, he goes into a frenzy of tics. nothing verbal, just a lot of throat-clearing, head-jerking, and hair-smoothing. it must be awful for him, but man, it's distracting as hell to have all that happening just at the periphery of your vision.
