i'm so boring when i'm working

i'm not making very good progress today, but at least i'm still plugging away. i may run out to a cafe in a while in an attempt to help me focus. in the meantime, i am enjoying taking screenshots of assorted views of interesting rat genes.

i wouldn't know they were interesting, except they're labeled "interesting rat genes".

in other news, Roberto came to fix my bathroom fan earlier and discovered (what a shock!) that it's too old and crufty to repair so he's out getting me a new one. he also said my dishwasher has finally arrived, but he can't install it till next week because he's too busy this week. which is fine. as i told him, i haven't had a dishwasher for almost 12 years. another week isn't going to kill me.

does it get better than this?

i'm working with my feet up, enjoying the sea breeze coming through my apartment and the view of the ocean. i'm listening to streaming swing music on the net. the cats are napping peacefully near my chair. and my neighbor just knocked on my door to give me drugs.

this is the life, baby. i don't think i could be any more satisfied right now.
