sigh.

eight resumes sent out today, which is at least more than i was able to do last week. there's just no work out there at all. i'm seriously considering getting a holiday retail job to tide me over until the first of the year; i could manage to skate by without a job until then, but it'd be a lot easier with at least some income. or maybe i should call a temp agency and do some short-term stuff? temp agencies love me because i can type 100+ WPM.

i'm feeling really depressed about this. and bored. there's nothing much to do that doesn't cost money, and i'm trying to avoid spending money unnecessarily. although i'm breaking down far too often and going out for meals just to have an excuse to leave the apartment for a while. this really sucks.

microsoft has 20 tech writer positions open right now, but since i just signed a 6-month lease, i can't really do that. if i don't find work soon, though, i'm going to be in big trouble when tax time rolls around.

gah.

speaking of things that cost money

i just reserved a ticket for a lecture by John McCain at the Fairmont (sponsored by the Commonwealth Club) on Thursday. it looks interesting. at least it's something to do. and it's over so early, i'll get home in time to see CSI.

there's a book signing, but for that i'd have to buy his book, and i really couldn't care less.
