odd sight of the day
Dec. 7th, 2002 03:30 pmas i was heading home from the grocery store, the wheel of a car -- with tire -- suddenly rolled down a grassy hill in front of me from the vicinity of the high school, bounced across the road, rebounded off the fence that separates Oceana Blvd. from Rte. 1, rolled back across the street, and came to rest on the sidewalk. i saw no cars or humans at the top of the hill.
so i've been wondering for some time why it is that every time i go to the Albertson's in my neighborhood, they're completely out of 2-liter bottles of seltzer. today, i found out. i watched in astonishment as a woman loaded all 20 bottles on the shelf into her empty shopping cart and made a beeline for the checkout.
um.
um.
