v-day

i don't seem to be coping very well with my sixth solo valentine's day in a row. i'm rather peeved with myself, since i never made much of v-day to begin with. last year, i hardly even noticed.

on the way past the strip mall -- hordes of 20-somethings queued up outside the Octopus Lounge, two by two. at the video store -- a middle-aged Asian man in front of me took out eight pornos. not just any eight pornos, either, he had a list. it took Sheila 10 minutes to find them all. and on the way home -- four lone guys, of the long-haired and geekish variety, walking down the hill toward the Octopus Lounge, clearly planning to get too wasted to drive home.
