life is so unfair

so this morning i was trying on some clothes that didn't fit a couple of months ago. and they fit! yay! including the fabulous burgundy velvet cocktail dress. the one for which i happen to have matching burgundy velvet platform sandals. i look too fabulous for words in this outfit. and there happens to be a jazz trio i like playing at a cute little bistro downtown on friday night.

of course, if i went there alone dressed like this, i'd look like an over-the-hill call girl cruising for a date.

frankly, my dear...

saw Red Dust tonight, starring Clark Gable and Jean Harlow. i hadn't seen it for years, and i'd forgotten what a wonderful movie it is. it's a pre-code film, so it's very racy by old Hollywood movie standards. i was appalled that i was the only person in the theater who laughed when Clark Gable said by way of farewell, "it's been nice having you." even more appalled, of course, by the number of people who sat there chatting away during the movie. have some respect, people. that's Clark Gable all sweaty and delicious up there on the screen.

whoo-ee, Clark Gable. there's what i call a man, baby.

on the way back to my car, a really cute guy smiled at me. and there were deer grazing by the side of Sharp Park Blvd. as i came down the hill into Pacifica. i love seeing the deer.
