the good things about today
Mar. 19th, 2003 02:08 pmit's nice out.
i signed a petition to help save pacifica's little brown church, and had a neat conversation with the couple who were handing around the petition, who are members of the local historical society.
i found daffodils for 99 cents a bunch at Trader Joe's. bought two bunches, one for the living room and one for the bathroom, and put up the wall-hung vase in there that my fabulous neighbor Shirley gave me a few weeks ago.
my client will have the remaining check they owe me waiting at the front desk on friday when i go for a presentation, and agreed that i can start invoicing them now even though they haven't really given me anything to do yet on the big project, since i signed the contract and received the specs two weeks ago. so by mid-may, i may be on top of things financially (except for taxes, but i'm working on that).
the senate voted against drilling in the ANWR.
i'm making mediterranean fish stew for dinner. and treating myself to some wonderful fresh bread to go with, goddammit. and wine. cheap wine, but god damn, i deserve a little something every once in a while.
i'm also going to take my rolled coins down to the video store and rent a couple of movies. Sheila is always happy to accept coins, for some reason.
so goddammit, i'm happy today. i have caught myself smiling spontaneously several times. hell, i'm doing it right now.
so take that, george w. bush. i am not letting you ruin my day.
