it doesn't get much better than this
Aug. 14th, 2003 04:22 pmi spent the afternoon in my balcony garden, repotting things and tidying/rearranging everything so it actually looks nice. (this is the best picture i could get of it, though, since it's so sunny out. perhaps i can get a flash pic tonight.) i cut back my english thyme significantly, but it's still luxuriant, as is the basil. i put all the flowers together on a table where they'll be sure to get enough sun, and the morning glories have their own planter now and some wire to twine around. the ivy also has a bigger planter and a spot in which it can climb.
i finally got round to putting the hungarian wax peppers in a bigger planter as well, next to the stunted (but tentatively flowering) habaneros. if you look closely you can see a few little peppers on the plant. i picked the ripe ones, and now i have to figure out what i'm going to do with them. wax peppers are a regionally popular pizza topping in Charlotte, so perhaps i'll get busy with the pizza stone tomorrow. tonight it's leftover sorrel soup, and saturday it's BBQ for the gamers. (but it won't be done till dinnertime, so
kratkrat will just have to endure the exquisite torment of smelling slowly smoking pork shoulder all day.)
and you thought i was making BBQ to be nice.
the roses Shirley brought are making me sneeze, but they're too pretty to throw away.
