the latest word from the potential employer is that they're still trying to nail down one person i interviewed with, and that if they're not able to talk to her before the end of the week, everyone will be on vacation till the end of the year. the staffing consultant sounds very embarrassed about it. i certainly would be in her position. it's obviously not her fault people are being so flaky.

this is good news in that they'd hardly be bothering to keep in touch at this point if everyone else hadn't been positive about me, but i'm worried that by the time they get this woman's buy-in (which i'm sure they will -- we got along famously), it'll be too late for them to check my references and make an offer before the holidays.

i'm not sure i can take another couple of weeks of this suspense.

some of you i know in person, some have become friends via lj, and some i don't know at all. i'd love it if each and every one of you would tell me a little something about yourself -- anything at all, even if it's no more than a favorite color or how you like your coffee. (for me, it's the deep green-gray-blue of the ocean on certain days, and with half a teaspoon of sugar and a little milk. i was thrilled the time i went to a sort of dinery place in quebec city and they offered little tubs of milk instead of half-and-half! h&h just tastes greasy to me these days.).
