i just asked the new property manager about getting new screens in my bedroom so i can open the windows now that the weather is warming up. and she actually wrote out a work order right in front of me. i suppose i was expecting the usual "we'll send someone around" routine. so now, someone will be coming in in the next couple of days to take a look at them -- and my place is a FUCKING DISASTER AREA.

time to start cleaning. feh. i'm too tired for this, and i can't find my favorite cleaning music. (ELO, "Time.")

naturally i had to play with the latest icon-making tool. if only i looked this good in a turtleneck in real life.

hmmm.

[livejournal.com profile] naomi_traveller picked up some alleged curry leaves at an Indian market for me recently. i've read that curry leaves have a pleasant, fresh aroma something like tangerines, but these, to me, have an unpleasantly petroleum-like odor. i determined that the strongest source of that odor was coming from the ones that were wilted, so i pulled them all out, but the green ones still smell pretty foul to me.

does anyone with more experience of curry leaves than i have know whether this is how they smell when they go off, or whether what i've got isn't the same "curry leaf" that i was looking for, or what? because i'm very hesitant to put these into food. they really stink.

[livejournal.com profile] gooley? i recall you were growing curry plant...
