when i saw the optometrist recently, he recommended Systane eye drops for my occasionally dry eyes. these are apparently the shiny new thing. he gave me a dollar off coupon, so i went ahead and got some.
the first time i used them, my vision got significantly blurrier for an hour or so after i used them. i thought, hm, maybe a fluke. so today, when my eyes were feeling a little dry, i tried them again. same thing. i've just spent a while with my face about 4" from the monitor, searching for anything having to do with this stuff causing blurred vision, but to no avail.
more irksome yet, i think my new prescription is not accurate, so i'm going to have to go back again to see if i can get this cleared up.
in the meantime, thanks to these fucked up eye drops, my vision is nearly as bad with the glasses on as it is without them. this stuff is supposed to create a protective gel coating over the eye that's just like the one created by tears, but as far as i can tell, it's actually the world's greatest astigmatism-enhancing product.
