shameless self-indulgence

i've been working on the same story continuously since around 4 yesterday afternoon, except between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m., when i slept. i awoke buzzing with the need to get back to the story, and so i have. and i'm laughing my ass off at my own dialogue. and i think, i have this borrowed laptop now (THANK YOU, mister_borogove!) so i could go out into the sun and sit outdoors at cafe pacifica while i work on this, but i can't tear myself away from the story long enough to bathe, much less drive down the hill.

it does occur to me, however, that i haven't eaten anything for 24 hours, so food would probably be a good idea.
