mundane distractions and small comforts
Jun. 12th, 2005 01:07 pmDaddy-O now refuses to drink from his water dish unless i put ice in it. he comes running whenever i open the freezer and mews desperately when i take out the ice tray.
some of my herbs are, to my astonishment, coming back up on their own. i have italian parsley two inches high, and tiny seedlings of two sorts of thyme and what i suspect is either savory or chervil. and while the sweet 100 has produced no offspring, there are lots of seedlings in the pot that contained the plum tomatoes.
my first job was transplanting seedlings in a greenhouse, but we were given flats with individual sections in which to place each seedling. i'm still not quite sure what to do with these. should i do anything? should i just let them spring up where they grew, or should i thin them out when they're big enough to move? how far apart should i put them? should i feed them? what should i feed them?
i need to dig up my spray bottle. the whole garden is infested with whiteflies. obnoxious little bastards. we hates them, precious.
carnitas freeze well.
