i just spent four hours revisiting some very old lyrics, some never-finished ones and some i just never found a tune for. i finished one set and discovered they were actually a blues song, and i came up with music for another set that involves three key changes and an improvisational chorus of 'doo doot doos'. ([livejournal.com profile] dwenius would love the second one, but it's a little too proggy for my taste. the first one, however, has a killer hook.)

i haven't seriously played my guitar in months.

i haven't been this musically creative in years.

now, if i can manage not to forget them or lose interest by tomorrow...

also: i've got blisters on my fingers.

The Bridge, a documentary about people who jump off the Golden Gate Bridge, premieres this weekend at the San Francisco Film Festival. it focuses on six of the 24 known bridge suicides from 2004, including (WARNING) actual footage of their jumps. the filmmakers stationed cameras at both ends of the bridge and reloaded film hourly every day that year. (they called 911 to report every suspicious-looking person, attempted jump, and actual jump they witnessed.)

creepy, yet fascinating.

it'll be showing Monday at 1pm at the Kabuki, which is a time so convenient that i can't possibly pass it up. anyone want to meet me there? it doesn't appear to be possible to order tickets online or via phone, so i expect it'll be the standing-in-line routine.
