Jan. 12th, 2007 10:51 pmwhile the rest of you are freezing your butts off, it's about 70 degrees here in Austin at 10:30pm. (they're saying it's supposed to get colder tonight and that there may be an ice storm north of us, but i'm sure not feeling it yet.)
in other news, dirty GM tricks: we created characters for a bank robbery. we spent weeks planning our entry and exit and how we were going to crack the underground safes (plural). finally, last night, we executed.
while we were in the vault, the power went out and we were sealed into the safe by a steel plate that dropped from the ceiling to block the entrance. fortunately, my character had brought her entire semtex collection, so we blew our way out pretty easily... at which point we discovered that we'd been set up. our escape routes were all blocked. once we actually did make our way outside, we found every car in central Austin on fire (but not the buildings...) and marauding zombies roaming the area.
um. sure do wish i hadn't had to abandon the fuel supply for the thermic lance in the vault.
anyway, now we're holed up in a fire department training tower by the lake with a convenience store clerk and a bent cop, two guns, a couple of crowbars, a bag of plastique, a bunch of Charlton Heston memorabilia, and an envelope containing proof that the Hunt brothers killed Kennedy.
