i went down the hill for some salad fixings and wine to go with the london broil i'm marinating tonight. picked out a $3.99 bottle of local sangiovese -- we'll see if it's drinkable, but that's about what my budget will bear -- and got it free because the UPC wasn't in the system yet and the checker didn't want to hold up the line. i volunteered the price, but she said "don't worry about it."
a limp sort of "yay" is about all the enthusiasm i can muster, though. mostly i'm just glad i managed to get one load of dishes done today, which makes at least part of the kitchen usable again.
i really need to change cat litter and do more dishes and clean up my bedroom, but, well. at least i did something other than playing "The Sims" and feeling crappy because my Sims have better lives than i do. i mean, for christ's sake, i don't have to win the lottery. i just want a job and a relationship with someone who actually likes me. and some friends who also actually like me. is that so much to ask?
