some days, nothing goes right

parking before my psychiatrist appointment, i backed into a tree and broke a taillight and knocked my rear bumper askew. i fixed the bumper by kicking it angrily until it popped back into place, but the taillight will require a more sophisticated approach (and krazy glue).
had tentative plans to hang out with
naomi_traveller, but in the end we'd have had no more than an hour to hang out before she had to head back to the east bay for dinner with her research scientist, so we decided to do it another time. then i called Michele from group, since i'd promised to go for beers with her sometime this week. "call me anytime," she'd said. "trust me, you won't be interrupting anything. it'll be a reason for me to get out of bed and put clothes on." naturally, when i called she was at a museum with her parents, and wasn't free to go out this evening. doesn't it just figure that on a day i'm actually able to work up the initiative to try to initiate plans, nobody's available?
i spent a while cruising stores looking for matchstick blinds of the appropriate size and color for my bedroom, just to see how much i'd need to spend if i got some. Cost Plus had them super cheap in the right size, but not in the right color (and don't even start telling me i should buy them and paint or stain them myself, because i will smack you silly). Pier One had a more expensive version in the right color but not in the right size. Home Depot, astoundingly, had only a hugely expensive custom-order version.
got home. found that cable is out in my area. no word on when it will be back. don't have the energy to cook what i'd planned on. will have something else.
will possibly attempt to socialize again tomorrow. may instead lie on floor and gibber quietly to self.

Date: 2003-11-12 12:30 am (UTC)You could come over and help me pack! Or you could do something comparatively fun, like pound railroad spikes through your feet.
(Can you tell I don't like packing?)
