The Pentagon has reneged on its offer to pay a $15,000 bonus to members of the National Guard and Army Reserve who agree to extend their enlistments by six years, according to Sen. Patty Murray (D-Seattle).

Not like it's the first time this administration has screwed the troops... in fact, it's a running theme.

yeah, but people can rationalize things like extending tours of duty and not releasing guard members during wartime.

offering them $15K to re-up and then yanking it out from under them isn't so easy to rationalize, especially not for the kind of Bush supporters affected by something like this. for those people, $15K is a lot of money.

The Administration's governing philosophy seems to be that you can screw all of the people, some of the time, and nobody will notice. But he has been doing an awful lotta screwin' lately.
