sudden terrifying realization

i have no single friends that i see more than once every few months. none. i have three or four single friends in the area, none of whom i see regularly, none of whom live less than a 45-minute drive away. everyone else i know here is in a relationship.

damn, that's depressing. not because i'm pining for a relationship*, just because it's a hell of a lot easier to make plans with unattached people.

* to be honest, right now i don't know how i'd cram one into my life. it would cut into my writing time.

i know it's only randomness

but for some reason this week it seems like iTunes is picking exactly the right songs to play me in shuffle mode.
